About Me

Photo: Alexandra Nilsson
I am a Professor at Umeå University, where I research and teach Constitutional Law and Sports Law. My work focuses on courts and judicial politics, with a particular emphasis on empirical legal research methods.
As the Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Empirical Legal Studies and a researcher in multiple interdisciplinary projects, I explore how empirical methods and computational approaches can enhance our understanding of law and legal institutions.
My current research spans from studying the Court of Arbitration for Sport's legitimacy to investigating the dynamics of national courts in the EU legal system. I'm particularly passionate about bridging the gap between traditional legal scholarship and innovative empirical methodologies.
